Non-Diving Activities:

Aboard Barutheela we welcome divers and non-divers alike. We offer a range of activities to keep non-divers active and interested during their cruise:

Snorkeling: On demand our crew can take you to exceptional snorkeling sites in Barutheela’s dinghy. The dinghy stays nearby for comfort and security. Snorkeling equipment can be rented on board. It’s also possible to get certified as a PADI Skin Diver whilst on board. Our courses page has more details.

Learn to Dive: All non-diving guests on board are welcome to have a go a scuba diving by going on a “Discover Scuba” experience under the guidance and supervision of a professional PADI Instructor. If you enjoy the experience you can go on to achieve certification as a scuba diver whilst on board. Our courses page has more information on all the options available to you.

Fishing: For compassionate fishermen and those that wish to become such we prepare sunset fishing trips with the dhoni. Try your luck against the local crew. It’s not unusual to catch 20kg of fish on a two-hour night-fishing trip. Back on board our chef can turn your catch into a delicious dinner.

Big game fishing can be done during the day as Barutheela travels between dive sites. Fishing enthusiasts will need to bring their own rods for a very good chance of catching Yellow-finned Tuna or Bonito. Wonderful for sashimi with wasabi and soy!!!

Island visits: A visit to a Maldivian island, whether local or uninhabited, is always a special experience. The crew on board will show you around and explain different features of the island to you.

Chilling out: If your plan is to tan and relax, Barutheela has a range of novels to choose from. Please feel free to bring along your favourite music. Barutheela has a number of board games which the crew members are only to happy to challenge you to.
